Getting NEETs into jobs that fill local labour market gaps
Royal Holloway’s partnerships help NEETs into future-proof careers and address regional skills needs
Through two key partnerships, Royal Holloway University of London is working towards strategic place-based solutions to NEETs while also working with individuals to create opportunities.
The Surrey Skills Alliance was formed in 2026 to take a holistic approach to meeting future labour market needs in and around the county by explicitly supporting NEETs into in-demand talent pipelines.
Meanwhile, CyberAccess is a partnership between academics in Royal Holloway University of London’s Information Security team and the University of Surrey to create career opportunities for NEETs in cybersecurity. Funding by the ESRC, the ‘Future of Work in Surrey’ initiative is co-designed by colleagues in industry and higher education.
